30 Dollars well spent

Thanks Sharla

Charleigh's Teeth

Ignore all the snot.  It's gross.  But its our reality. Just look at those pearly whites :) (and Jeff says also the freshly cut grass)
The left top is already through and the right one is right behind it, but hasn't broken skin yet.
Go Charleigh!

Gymnastics!!!

I have a great LOVE for the sport of gymnastics. I did it as a kid and totally and completely (well besides God, of course) give credit for my athleticism and strength to all those hours in the gym.  So, it was a no brainer that I wanted my kids to try it out (although Jeff wasn't so gung-ho).

What I really liked more than anything was it was something they could do together :)

We tried it out in August and September, and then in October we were going to be busy (and little did we know get a sweet angel), so we opted out, and also November and December.  We decided to give it another try in January and we finished out all the months since!

Jackson really likes it, although he is quite big for the Preschool class he is in.  Creighton likes the act of gymnastics, I am just not sure she likes being in a class (and being taught) just yet.  Their listening ears were on the bad side awful and I feel so sorry for Ms. Debbie, their teacher.

The whole class was typically crazy, but I will say they learned a lot.  And, I know Jackson really liked going!

We didn't take too many pictures this year, but we did tonight. It was their final Parent's Night (aka Award Night) and they recieved trophies! They were so excited.  (and so was I).

Jackson graduates Mother's Day Out

Jackson had his end of year program last week
He was rather excited to see that Grandma Maxie, Nonna, Grammy, and Daddy (and Charleigh & Mom) were all there to watch him! :)

I have video of all the songs they sang (4) and they did a great job.

He was in Mrs. Morgan's class this year Monday, Wednesday, and half day Friday. He really did such a great job this year and learned a ton about so many things! His favorite friend, Colton, was in his class and it was just SO cute to see their friendship grow this year.  They were pretty inseperable during the school year and we even had some playdates throughout the year, too.

The kids in his class were:  Jackson, Olivia, Reed, Colton, Steven, Aubrie, Parker, and Grant (not pictured)

I believe that only Colton and Jackson are moving to Ranch Heights next year, but we are so glad that they will be together (and we are praying they get the same teacher).

Of course I couldn't leave without a picture of him being goofy...he is Jeff's kid afterall! I am sad it was so blurry, but I had to post it all the same.

And, so we go to big school next year...I am sure there will be many posts about that adventure! I am quite sad about it as of now, however.

Blog to Book

My hubby printed off my blog in hard back for my birthday. He only did 06-07 just to see if I liked it first, but I didn't, I LOVED it.

So the next 2 books are coming soon! Yeehaw! And the good thing about that is they screwd up the first order so he got a really good discount on the next 2 (bigger) books...so it worked out nicely that he waited.  It's so neat. That is why I started blogging in the first place, to keep record of what goes on (big and little) in our lives.  I wanted the kids to see pictures and hear stories and such and with my mind going completely crazy ever since I had them, well I figured it wouldn't be best to try and recall them...

So the blog began, and now the blog is bound and we can hold it in our hands.  It's not perfect, because our lives are far from perfect, but it's real, it's honest, it's us. I LOVE it. Thank you honey!

And just for the record. 30 is not nearly as bad as I thought....only the actually saying "I'm 30" part is hard and the fact that my body is absolutely falling apart

If you are interested he printed them at http://www.blog2print.com/

First WORD!

Well it's official.  She said it yesterday but I wasn't so sure if it was just a fluke babble. But I am positive today that her first word is MAMA! SO exciting.  Neither Jackson nor Creighton said mama first, and so its very fun! :)

I have some video...will try to upload it soon. But didn't want to miss this opportunity to write it down (as if I'd ever forget) :) Way to go Charleigh!

May Update

Certainly not because we haven't had things going on...but because we've been entirely TOO busy :)

Since I last posted, Charleigh had her first flight!
has now mastered sitting.  She can go from her rocking position to a sitting position all by herself and she doesn't lean forward anymore.

She went from her sweet gummy grin, to one little tooth, to now she has 3 TEETH! What on earth? It's going so fast.  She can crawl a few "steps" at a time and then falls forward before she gets right back up to conquer the task at hand.  Her eating habits have been dramatically better. She LOVES squash and peas.  She still loves her rice cereal more than anything though.  She has started eating Biter Biscuits which are entirely more messy than they are worth, but it does keep her entertained and happy, and she's learning how to use her pincher :)  She is smiling more than ever (except when her gums are hurting) and we all fall more in love with her EVERY DAY.  I just can't get enough of her.  Really. It's so crazy the way that I feel about this kid...

Cute baby, sweet big brother!

Jackson is "graduating" from his pre school program tomorrow. What? He starts public school in less than 3 months! He did exceptionally well under his teacher this year and has blossomed into such a smart and lovable little boy.  I love it.  I love this smile!
He says and does things that Jeff and I look at each other and say "really, did he just [do] [say] that." One of my favorite things about him (and Creighton) is how they say things wrong.  I can't seem to make myself correct them right now...it's just way too cute.  One day I will try to compile a list of all them.  He has been in gymnastics and loves it.  He is very strong and loves to show off.  He is loving playing outside and climbing trees when he isn't begging to sit in front of the  TV. I swear I would throw the thing away, but alas, like father like son...  He has been doing exceptionally well for the last few weeks of Awana and finished his first book for Cubbies. He was ecstatic to receive the bear!

I LOVE THIS PICTURE!

Creighton will move upstairs next year to the same class and teacher that Jackson had this past year (I think on the teacher part) but did very very well with Ms. Jill this year.

She was always complemented on being so far ahead of where she should be for her age, but I think the best compliment Ms Jill gave her was in her ending letter : [Ms. Jill will miss Creighton for] her manners and her "Big Girl" personality.  We have been working SO hard with her this past few months on her manners. She's done a super job.  Now, if I can get her to obey and not be so hard headed, she'd be the greatest kid on the planet:)  She NEVER ever stops singing.  She sings what she wants to say, what shes thinking, and/or random nothingness.  She sings with passion even when it doesn't make a bit of sense. She's becomming beautiful, which is scary...you know I did pray at one point that she'd be ugly so to fend off boys. :) (I am not kidding)...but I realized there are "ugly" boys that exist too. :)  She's beautiful though, seriously.  Stunning at moments. Thankfully she throws a LOT of attitude and a little tomboy in there every now and then or we'd really be in a lot of trouble.

Jeff pulled off throwing me a surprise party for my 30th birthday a week early.

My grandma was in town,

which was awesome and several friends and family came up!  Better than the party (sorry everyone) was the book.  I made Jeff a book for his 30th birthday and he one upped me by making mine bigger and better :)  I LOVE it. I don't have a book of pictures from growing up but he did a great job of getting lots of baby/childhood pics in there and so it's awesome.  But there are AWESOME letters from my friends and family which I will forever cherish.

I was clueless (for the most part) about everything.  It was fun.  For the record I am NOT 30 yet though :) Saturday after 4:13pm you can tell me welcome to the 30s, but not till then.  I am not quite handling 30 well. That was always so old growing up...and I don't FEEL old, I don't feel like I LOOK old...so it's got to not be old, right?!

Things are good.  We are all doing well.  Ready for summer to enjoy some sunshine and play in the pool with the kids.

6 months

Charleigh had her 6 month well baby today.  She's healthy in all the majors, but we've got to try to figure something out with her eating.  So here we go again, round 4 or 5 or more with trying "solids".  Today she had squash with her rice and almost threw it up, but kept it down.  That's a huge accomplishment in our world :) Now, here's to hoping there will be no rash!  Then we'll  try it again tomorrow.  Squash is new to her, we've never tried it in the past...so she might be eating a WHOLE LOT of squash.

She weighed 15 pounds 5.5 ounces and is 27 inches long!  She is well above all the average milestones for this age, which doesn't surprise me one bit.  She wants to do everything the big kids are doing and can't wait to be able to walk and talk.

She is such a blessing to us! Each day is awesome...even when she's cranky from 5 vaccinations! (seriously...don't we think that is a little much for a 15 pounder?)

Dear Charleigh--
You have grown in every way over the past 6 months. It's been so fun to watch. I think my favorite part of you is your chubby little rolls on your legs and arms.  You were so little for so long...this is so fun to see you with some meat finally.  Although your head is a close second and those sweet cheeks of yours...because I LOVE kissing all over you.  You are an incredibly social baby and LOVE people.  You love to "talk" to Creighton and Jackson all the time.  I am pretty sure you are spoiled rotten, but I wouldn't have it any other way. I am just smitten by you.  You are a mommy's girl in every way and I don't mind one bit! Thank you for letting us love you and for being such a sweet baby.  I hear everyday how much you look like me...and I watch how you act like your brother and sister...it was just meant to be sweet baby girl. You are so loved by so many people.
Love,
Mommy

Charleigh...stop getting so big so fast!

My sweet baby girl is turning 6 months this week. I can't believe how fast the time has gone. It's so crazy. She is doing so many things, I had to share! :)  And this smile NEVER gets old!
I am SOOOOO excited that my mother-in-law had taken our excersaucer for her friend's baby, and then my niece used it too, and now it's found its way back to us! All three of my babies have used it...the ONLY thing that I still have that ALL of them have used. :) It was awesome!  She thought so too.  It was a touchdown to her :)
Okay, so she's sitting up! What?! Wasn't she born yesterday or something? She's too big!
And crawling? NO!!!!! But, its so close. She is sosooo close.  She can get anywhere, but I wouldn't call it quite a "crawl" yet.  She can roll everywhere, scoot backwards, and edge herself forward one face plant at a time:)  She's amazing!
We moved her to her own room this week and she's doing exceptionally well.  She is sleeping better and so am I.  That makes for a house full of happier people :)

Real Life...it ain't pretty

Charleigh has been keeping me up even while she is sleeping.  She is turning 6 months old this week, and so I decided that she could move to her own room.  Tonight is the first transistion of this monumental change.  She, so far, has done great.  She napped in there and slept better than she had all day.

The other two, on the other hand, are about to drive me wild. I spent $225 on a twin bed to go in Creighton's room so they can both stay in there for now, until Charleigh is out of the crib.  So there is a day bed and a trundle in there now.  I went in for the millionth time (very angry I must admit) to spank them and I literally almost killed myself on the trundle bed in the middle of the room.  It was to Jackson's great luck, and my great humility, that this happened, because then I didn't spank them out of anger or at all, because I was stuck crying on the floor with a half broken foot. Served me right, holy moly it hurt so bad!

Jackson was the culprit at the time, athough it had been Creighton every time up to that point, that smarted off with laughter, and I think he thought he hurt me and he was very sweet as I flung Mr. Spoon up into the air and hurled my heaving aching body across the floor.  He just kept saying "I am so sorry Mama, I didn't know, I am so sorry. Are you okay, do I need to kiss it? I am so so sorry Mama"

My foot is bruised up good and in a fair amount of pain. And, now its bleeding too!

They are quiet now, praise the Lord. I hope this works out.

Oh I can't wait to hopefully get a good night's rest....wish us luck

Easter Sunday!

A few pictures from Easter Sunday! :)
I never knew how much fun it would be to find them matching things :)

Creighton was in SOME mood. Can you tell? She did NOT want to be taking pictures. She'll thank me later I am sure for documenting this "special" age of 3. :) Oh how I treasure this...
Since my mom and dad were close and were making lunch we jetted down to their house and she was much happier to take pictures after she'd eaten :)
Getting all cleaned up. First bath with all 3 of them :) Love the sibling bonds :)

Sweet (and some not) Bedtime Talk

Tonight as I was attempting to put Jackson to bed we had some sweet conversation....I'll try to recall as much of it as possible...

Jeff had some guys in town and they were all going to the prayer room to help read through the bible and pray.  Jackson REALLY wanted to go.  But the answer was firmly "no" the whole time, much much to his protesting

J: Do you get to go Mama?
Me: No, buddy I don't get to go either. I am going to stay here and go to bed too
J: [crosses arms and pouts some more]
Me: I know! How about you and I go on a date and for part of it we can go just us, not daddy, not rae, not charleigh, just us?
J: NO! I only go on dates with Emma.
Me: [laughing] Buddy, you can always go on dates with mommy
J: NO! Only with Emma
Me: [hysterically laughing] (his facial expressions were PRICELESS!!) Okay, well then, maybe Mommy, Mrs. Kara and Emma and you can all go sometime soon...
J: It's NOT FUNNY MAMA! No I only go on dates with her BY MYSELF!
Me: (now it's even funnier because I am not suppose to be laughing)
J: I AM SERIOUS. I am SERIOUSSSSSSSS
Me: okay, buddy...I am going to leave now

later when I went back in there after daddy told him no (again) he just cuddled up next to me and cried. His heart was broken. He adores Jeff's group of guys so much and loves it when he gets to hang out with them.  All of them are 20 or 21 I think and he just doesn't understand that he's 4. They all love on him and treat him so awesome...like a little brother.

So after we talk that through for awhile, we begin the sweetness...

J: Do you know what I want to be when I get bigger?
Me: no, buddy what?
J: A Taco Bueno Helper [huge proud smile]
Me: (seriously, did he just say that?) Wow, that's neat.
J: But first I have to get a suit and a (pointing to his ear and then towards his face) what are those called?
Me: A headset?
J: yeah, a headset.
Me: so you want to take the drive thru orders?
J: yeah....when Rae Rae wants beans then she can say she wants to go to Taco Bueno and I (huge smile) can give them to her!
Me: (seriously he's so sweet!) You're awesome little man.  I love you.

It was just precious. He is the sweetest kid. I love his heart. I got to encourage him about some of the Godly characteristics I see in him already and how excited I am that he is becomming the man of God of that only God could have designed! I told him he was getting so big...

I could tell as I cuddled him tighter that he was thinking some more...deeply

J: will have still have this face when I get older?
Me: what do you mean
J: will I look like I do now?
Me: well yes but your face will get older too
J: like yours?
Me: yeah I guess.  Am I old?
J: older
Me: so do you think I am pretty? (scared to death of his honesty)
J: yeah. Your eyes are the same, but your lips are older and your eye brows are a little [showing me about 3 cm between his pointer and his thumb] different than they were. (He then proceeded to touch almost every part of my face, my hands, and my feet telling me what had changed (older) and what was the same).

He's a riot...

Somewhere before all the above conversation we were actually talking about poop.  I know...I know...but he's a 4 year old boy. He was calling diarrhea "smear poop" and I had to put a stop to that.  So anyway, I won't go into lots of detail here but one funny thing he said was "Mom, sometimes I have poops as big as Charleigh is right now!" Maybe it was the moment, but I was dying laughing...who says that? Oh, boy, I love you more than I can possibly explain!

Charleigh

 EF            UKLJM,,FDC,MKFGMD,AS,E;P JREJ FGMVC   =QZ5355333W7W7S0A9OQ56RYYYYYYYYYYY,

that was a message from Charleigh

I can't believe she is 5 months! Time has flown by. It's been incredible.  Well until the past week, but whatever. :) She's still incredible but she's also TEETHING like a maniac and isn't at all happy about it.  She forgot how to sleep and how to be happy go lucky! I know that girl is in there somewhere though and I am determined to get  her back.

We took her to the doc to make sure she wasn't sick or something. She has a small cold (Summer cannot get here fast enough) and she had a terrible rash. Turns out she's probably allergic to sweet potatoes! That's crazy...they are my MOST favorite veggie! But its all good, at least they aren't really IN anything, like soy or wheat or nuts or something major.  Rash is all healed up now, woo hoo! and she weighed in  at 14 pounds 2.5 ounces! Yeehaw! Growing like a weed!

She is still a delight, but we are all just a little tired around here!  She has mastered rolling over both ways now and so its a good thing we moved her to the crib...although she doesn't quite like it yet.  We'll be working on that!

No pics because other computer is still down or something...who knows.

whew...its been awhile

Well after not having a computer (and sometimes not internet either for my iTouch) I am finally back!!!

I got caught up on all my blogs I read. I feel like SO much has gone on this month and I have a million and ten things to blog about...Hopefully now that we have a computer up and running I will be able to get on here more.

Charleigh is still in our room, although we moved her out of the bassinet and set up the crib. She is getting bigger by the moment and not a second goes by without all of us falling more in love with her! She's just too good to be true.  She had her well-baby visit this month and surpassed 12 pounds...at a whopping 13.8 pounds and is 26 inches long! She has rolls everywhere and is long, but still tiny for her age. :)

We had our termination of parental rights hearing about a month ago and it was granted so that is good news as this is now in its finalization stages. I can't wait to stand before the judge in our county and hear him declare this little girl a Berg, forever (until she marries, of course).  It's been a wild and awesome ride.  We are nearing the end of the legal side and looking so much forward to the rest of our lives together as a family.

I signed Jackson up for public Pre-K next year and almost cried. He is just amazing and I love cuddling him up. I am so thankful that the school he will be going to is only 2 streets south of our house and we walk there all the time to go the park, so it's familiar (enough) to him. Jeff is looking forward to walking him to school each morning...awesomeness! We are working a little more intentionally on his Awana Cubbies verses this semester as he finally has showed interest in it without being prodded.  He is doing really well, but really wants the Cub E. Bear like his sweet friend Emma Kate. We'll see if he can get there by the summer.

Creighton is never ever not singing or talking.  She is quite the actress in the making.  She's more animated than Pixar I believe.  There is never a dull moment with that kid. I just love her to pieces, even though she's so much like me it causes many bumps in our days.  Oh well. We're making it.  She is the best big sister (most of the time) to Charleigh.  She just loves her so much she forgets how fragile she is.  It's pretty awesome to see her with Charleigh...both of their eyes light up!

Jeff was in a minor major to us car accident this past month.  That was crazy. Neither of us have even been in an accident as the driver (only passenger one time) and so it was like walking a plank blindfolded for quite some time.  They totalled the car, which in the end I think will be better.  We will hopefully get the check monday and be looking for a new car.  We are very thankful we have wonderful insurance.  We are most thankful that Jeff is okay. His leg was injured but nothing major...just bruising and soreness.  His neck, thank the Lord, is doing okay.  It was emotionally rather hard on him because the 3 people in the other car were whisked away in an ambulance.  It was very sad, but we are so happy they only sustained minor injuries and will be fine.  That made it much easier to swallow.

I am doing some private lessons again and am loving that. Other than that I pretty much am loving on Charleigh and trying to keep up with Jax and Rae.  Its a blast. I am exhausted most days, but I must say that the month sans computer I have gotten a little more sleep under my belt. I am pretty sure there is a high coorelation there.

Pics to come soon!
