Postpartum Depression ACT

Ran into this post from Maria and decided I, of all people, should post about this issue of Postpartum depression, because I definitely went through this after the birth of Creighton. I haven't gone back to actually read this post of mine (even still) but I knew that I had made comment about it somewhere a while back. I am thankful that I am fine now, but I certainly was not okay at the time, and I know that there are many other women that struggle silently about this issue. Please don't suffer silently...get help!
Here is an article, that Maria also links to about what yesterday was about... I haven't read all of it, or really know everything that this is all about, but certainly anything that is going to help get rid of the negative stigma and also promote getting help with this very serious issue/disease has my support.

PPD is a real issue and i am glad you and others have been able to talk about it. too many people do try to "overcome" this illness by themselves. just like a broken arm needs fixed, so does someone with Postpartum. thank you for helping me and others get through it.

Post partum depression has taken such dangerous proportions that, it is leading women to suicides even. Suicides resulting from post partum depression is increasing all over the world and especially among the working women and the single mothers. The rate is also high in the USA as against the other parts of the world. http://www.xanax-effects.com/

I have been prescribed alprazolam (Xanax) and a variety of other benzodiazipines for the past ten years when I was first diagnosed with generalized anxiety disorder, my dosage is 2mg 2 x daily. This was recently reduced from 2mg 3 x daily and I admit I do suffer a little but I make the best of it. The most important thing about Xanax is it is addictive and NEVER suddenly stop taking it! You could suffer from what's called a "Benzodiazipine withdrawal seizure". You need to taper your dose down. This is a PROPER and safe way to wean off. But overall, wonderful medicine for anxiety!
